I've been going to World Gym for 5 months and it has only gotten worse. There is no water available on the floor. NO WATER! You can get water at the front desk sink but be prepared to deal with dirty dishes and a broken faucet. The locker rooms are old and gross. There are signs plastered all over the place and the same ads play on the radio/tv on repeat. There are no sanitizer wipes. Absolutely no room for doing free weights - this is a major issue. The three lane track is used for personal training, which only contributes to the space issue. Furthermore, the trainers are rude and do not share the small space we have for free weights.

Nice gym. Convenient for me. Could be kept cleaner.

Great for the area and the price. There are some beat up pieces of equipment and the new equipment showed up very used so I'm not sure what's up with that. The environment is great for training

I will say as of recently the gym has improved with new paint, doors, fixed pot holes, and sink counter tops, but it still has the same equipment since the placed opened its doors (over 15 years ago). The average person pays $30 a month with an additional annual charge of $30 in November. I'm not sure why, because like I said before the equipment is extremely old, which I consider to be the most vital part of the gym. Does the gym do what it needs to? Yes, but it could seriously improve its cleanliness, payment methods, and overall demeanor. My biggest complaint is the fact that they raised the price for a guest visit, it was $7, but now it is $10, and it’s not like the community has much of a choice. This is the only large gym establishment in Calvert County. They use to hand out towels years ago, but now they insist that everyone wipe down their recently used equipment with paper towels, which is not very environmentally friendly. The bathrooms are atrocious, and I try to spend the least amount of time possible in them. I can honestly write that I have never witnessed anyone utilize cleaning supplies in that hazardous location. If a piece of equipment is broken you should expect 4 to 6 weeks in till it is fixed. The second stair master is broken as I write this review, and I’m sure it will not be operational anytime soon. The trainers are nice, and once in a while (if they are in a good mood) you will hear a faint whisper of a “hello” or “goodbye” as you enter or leave. The people are nice too, you have your typical Bros, Old people, High Schoolers, Senior Citizens, Cardio Bunnies, Yoga Pants Gurus, Meat heads, and Average Joes all trying to get in shape and not bother one another. I do like the fact that they put on two different news channels; FOX and CNN, which gives the audience a fair unbiased balance of what Trump is doing on his new reality show. However, the commercials are on a repetitive brain washing propaganda loop, which will result in some type of mental illness or fatigue. Headphones are absolutely necessary to avoid the annoying, frustrating, and infuriating whistling that goes along with the “Parasi School of Speed” commercial. The gym does have a nice protein shake bar. I never use it, but I have heard good things, and sometimes they will pass out free samples. Overall it is a mediocre gym and for that I give it two stars, and if it were not for fixing the pot holes recently it would have been a one. I almost lost a friend in one of those craters, luckily enough I had my ladder with me and he was able to escape.

Mandatory 12 month membership. Is this a gym with decent equipment? Yes. Does it get the job done? Yes. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely yes. This gym is not well maintained. No parking during peak hours. Major pothole in the entryway of the parking lot. Reeks of BO at all times. No fans for air flow. Ladies room counter top remains flooded with stale water. Soap is always empty. No towel service. No water fountains. The mats for stretching are falling apart. Most of the cable machines are broken. Machines are left out of service for weeks at a time. No ankle straps or barbell pads available. Advertisements play on the TVs and radio and are posted on the walls. It's an overall lackluster establishment. Expect no more than the bare minimum. But for $30 a month, what can you expect?

Dear World Gym: Buy a few filtered water machines. Order some sanitizer wipes. Take out some of the equipment. Make sure your machines are in front of a mirror so people can check their form. Clean the gym. Take down the obnoxious ads. Clean the bathroom. Order some decent stretching mats. Fix your broken machines. Move the easy bar tower away from the free weights section. Heck, add a free weight section. Oh and trim the trees that are overgrowing the side walk.
