I took my spare tire to Twin Beach to get mounted and balanced to match the other 4 on our Jeep. To start the tire was a load "D" tire max psi 50. The tire size is 35x12.50r17.
I will never go back here again. You can see the one lined reviews about this place for a lot of people that drop their vehicle off here and pay surplus amounts. Scroll down a little bit and check out the negatives. Or if you would like, go to the shop and see the non-transparency they have when working on your vehicle.
Oil, lube and filter 14.95. With disposal fees a total of 20.00.. Nobody can do it cheaper, even if you tried to do it yourself.
I then get the bill for $32.xx, I was charged for mount balance of the new tire $20 and charged $12 to dismount the old tire.
The tire was not mounted on my vehicle so I brought it to the shop in my pick up. We removed the old tire and the new tire from the back of the pick up and they got started very quickly.
They always do excellent work on my vechicles. And the ccustomer service is great. Hank is our favorite!!!
He comes back and says he is going to charge me $10 for the labor of replacing the labor. At this point, I walk out to the car to check on the work while the manager is holding open the door as if I am going to drive the thing off. The leak was fixed; however, the I truly feel as if he genuinely did not mind that the job was not done right the first time. Even for sake of having a returning customer, he wanted that petty $10.
I go back and politely ask for them to check out the issue. It turns out that it was not threaded properly and the o-ring was flattened. At this point, they ask if I would like to change the oil filter so I say yes (they could have just replaced the o-ring). But, I also mention that I did not expect to pay for it, since it was not done properly in the first place. The manager at the time did not say anything after that, so I assumed this was going to be the case.
To be honest if i knew it was that much I would have gone to everyother tire shop in the area that charged $18-21 for the mount and balance.
Then the kicker when I get home I check the air pressure in the tire and they aired the tire up to 65psi so I had to let 30psi of air out of the tire.
When they were finished I noticed they used metal weights that clamps to the wheels not the stick on weights. I guess it wouldn't have been a big deal if the wheel have never been used, but it was like new.
But I guess the good was they were pretty fast, I just won't go back.
Walked in with my little kids, was greeted and my kids were handed a ring pop. Handed over my keys and they did a 7 quart oil and oil filter change for 26.00. play area for the kids. Toys provided. Vending machines. TV on with music. Great place. I'll be back for more services. Thank you.
I got 3 oil and filter changes while I was here, and I always brought my own products. They use the cheap stuff. Unfortunately, I still get charged full price.
There was an oil leak coming from the seam of the oil filter on the second change; I barely noticed it unless I popped open the hood every now and then. After the third change, the leak was still there! Did they ever change my filter in the first place? And if they did, why did they not bother to tell me?
