Anyway, we didn’t bother saying anything because it was just laughable, and even a simple cheese sandwich can be good sometimes. But for crying out loud, if you’re gonna take a shortcut preparing food, don’t do so on the grilled cheese. That’s the easiest thing to make!
Thursday’s Bar & Grill is just what you would expect from a place completely covered from wall to wall wood paneling. Like something out of the Stranger Things series this place has been untouched by time dating back to the 80’s. However, just because you have an owner who refuses to leave the past behind that does not make the food unbearable. I usually walk in to the place with my eyes closed. I know it can be quite dangerous, but to shield my eyes from the horrible interior design is necessary. Once I decide to open them and look at the menu, that’s when things start to come into perspective. I love their sweet potatoes waffle fries, and dare I say they taste almost as good as Chick-fil-a’s. The food is tasty, but it takes forever for them to bring it out. I’m not sure if they have to kill the cow in order to make the burger I just ordered. Whichever the case, the establishment has scrumptious food, but I would not bring friends from out of town here unless you don’t like them. This is a place I would take my in-laws, and tell them there isn’t a lot to do in Calvert County. Just take a look at the pictures and ask yourself if you truly want to put your friends in that type of environment. I give the place two stars with the potential to get three if they added some creativeness to the setting.
Nice and clean that is worth 2 stars. Food not so much. Nachos were very dry. Well done hamburger was very undercooked and fries were not done, soggy and cold. Staff nice, manager apologized. But didn"t change the fact I had no dinner. Hadn't been in a while and now know why we hadn't gone back for so long. I guess if you just want to drink it is okay-for dinner not so much.
I’ve eaten here a few times over the past few years, usually when family comes to visit. The food is usually pretty good, service is fast and servers are friendly, but I want to take a minute to talk about their “grilled cheese”... We ate there yesterday and my sister ordered the grilled cheese off the children’s menu (sister is in her 30’s). For whatever reason, they charge adults extra when ordering a children’s menu item, but whatever, it was $5 with fries. When they bring my sister’s order out, what they were passing off as “grilled cheese” was friggin’ white toast with a slice of cheese tossed in the middle. Literally, her “grilled cheese” never touched a grill. There was no butter on the bread and the single slice of cheese was still holding its shape... Yeah, surprisingly the combined heat of two slices of toast were not enough to melt cheese!
Good food, nice bar area, plenty of tv monitors, nice beer selection, and great staff.
A special treat for our out of town guests. Great food, wonderful device!
